The VEKI scheme (Accelerated Climate Investments in Industry) is intended for industrial companies investing in technologies or installations that reduce energy consumption, raw material use, and CO₂ emissions.
The scheme focuses on investments in proven technologies that contribute to the sustainability of industrial processes, but which are not yet widely adopted due to their relatively long payback period (more than five years). Examples include installations or process modifications that improve the efficient use of energy or raw materials.
The VEKI scheme compensates part of the additional investment costs associated with a more sustainable alternative compared to a conventional installation.
Depending on the size of the company and the type of project, the subsidy covers 35% to 80% of the additional costs of the sustainable investment.
A minimum grant amount of € 125.000 per project applies.
With the VEKI scheme, the government aims to accelerate the deployment of CO₂-reducing technologies in industry. The scheme is intended for technologies that are technically proven but not yet widely adopted due to their investment costs.
An important condition is that the investment must directly result in a reduction of energy or raw material use within the industrial process. In addition, the installation or technology must remain the property of the applicant.
