The SSEB scheme (Clean and Zero-Emission Construction Equipment Subsidy) is intended for construction companies, equipment owners, and other businesses in the construction sector that want to contribute to the transition to zero-emission construction.
The scheme supports both investments in zero-emission construction equipment and innovation projects aimed at developing new zero-emission construction machinery and technologies. Examples include electric construction equipment, hydrogen-powered machinery, retrofit solutions where existing equipment is converted to zero-emission operation, and development projects for new zero-emission applications in the construction sector.
The SSEB scheme consists of several components, each with its own subsidy rates and conditions.
For investments in zero-emission construction equipment, part of the additional investment cost compared to a conventional machine is compensated. Depending on the type of investment and the size of the company, the subsidy typically covers approximately 14% to 50% of these additional costs.
For innovation and feasibility projects, funding is available for development projects or studies focused on zero-emission construction equipment.

An important condition for the investment schemes is that the equipment meets the requirements of the scheme and is included on the list of eligible zero-emission construction equipment. In addition, the equipment must be used in the Netherlands and contribute to reducing emissions on construction sites.
